Davis LLP’s Video Game Blog

Davis LLP has accomplished many firsts in video game law…Namely, Canada’s first Video Games & Interactive Entertainment Law Group, the world’s first Video Game Law blog, http://www.videogamelawblog.com ( there’s even a facebook group representing their large and loyal international following), and the first Canadian law firm to open an office in Second Life: http://www.secondlife.com.  As far as lawyers go, these guys are pretty cool.

The team of authors cover such areas as Free Expression, Personality Rights, Piracy, Mods and Chips.  A few of the authors were embroiled in an ongoing dispute about whether the USS Enterprise could defeat an Imperial Star Destroyer in a one-on-one fight. Mr Sprately says no;  Mr Bennett says yes.  Ok, so they have geeky tendencies, but its a great resource for anyone wanting to learn more about the business of gaming.

Mr. Bennett is clearly right about this. A geeky genius, indeed!

Right-thinking people everywhere will recognize Mr. Bennett is out to lunch on this one. In fact, he probably has Star Wars toys in his own office because he secretly prefers Star Wars to Star Trek.
